Especially useful at 2am during an on-call incident when you need fast, reliable answers.

Unlike Google search where you use keywords, Perplexity works better with full sentences and full error messages. Give it everything you know:
Windows Server 2022 Active Directory replication failing with error 1722 "RPC server unavailable" after adding a new domain controller at a remote site connected via site-to-site VPN. What are the most common causes and the systematic diagnostic steps?
What you should see: A structured answer with: likely causes in order of probability, diagnostic commands to run, and cited sources from Microsoft KB articles, Spiceworks, and other technical resources.
Unlike a chatbot that might hallucinate, Perplexity cites every claim. For critical production changes:
What you should see: Direct links to Microsoft support articles, vendor documentation, and community forum posts that back up the answer.
After the initial answer, dig deeper:
What you should see: More specific guidance that narrows toward your specific situation.
For NIST, RFC, and standards-based questions, click Focus and select Academic for more authoritative citations:
What you should see: Answers citing official standards documents rather than community posts.
Error code lookup:

Network behavior troubleshooting:
